FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is JAMSAI CAT HOTEL the same place as JAMSAI PET CLINIC? Why do they have similar names?

JAMSAI CAT HOTEL is owned by the same owner as JAMSAI PET CLINIC and is located in the same place. JAMSAI CAT HOTEL is part of JAMSAI PET CLINIC and is situated on the second floor of the clinic.

2. Is JAMSAI PET CLINIC a pet clinic or a veterinary hospital? What is the scope of its services?

JAMSAI PET CLINIC is a primary care veterinary clinic offering treatment for general medicine, general surgery, and preventive medicine. Our approach is centered around the philosophy of "Caring with warmth and peace of mind, close to home."

3. What is a primary care clinic? How does it differ from other veterinary clinics or hospitals?

A primary care clinic is a facility that provides care for general medicine, general surgery, and preventive medicine. It does not use complex tools or specialized doctors for diagnosis. It operates only during daytime hours and is not open 24 hours.

4. When a dog or cat starts to get sick, is it necessary to see a specialist? Are specialists better than general veterinarians?

A veterinary specialist is certainly more skilled in a specific field according to their specialization. Therefore, initial treatment should begin with identifying the general cause of the illness and determining which type of doctor to see. Visiting the wrong specialist could waste both time and money. It is recommended to first visit a general veterinarian who can diagnose and provide initial treatment. If further specialized diagnosis is needed, then consulting a specialist would be the next logical step.

5. What services does JAMSAI PET CLINIC offer?

We provide services for dogs and cats, including vaccinations, deworming, flea and tick prevention, treatment for common diseases such as diarrhea, vomiting, skin conditions and basic surgery such as spaying/neutering and dental scaling.

6. At what age should vaccinations be given to dogs and cats, and which vaccines are needed?

Vaccinations should begin at 2 months of age. For dogs, vaccines for combination diseases and rabies should be administered. For cats, vaccines for cat flu combo, rabies, and leukemia are recommended.

7. Can I know the exact cost of treatment before deciding to bring my pet to the clinic?

We can provide an estimate if the treatment involves a package or if the procedure is already known, such as vaccinations or spaying/neutering. However, if the cause of illness is unknown, we cannot provide an exact cost in advance, as the cost depends on the diagnosis, the type of illness and the treatment plan. After the examination, an approximate cost can be provided, and the pet owner can decide whether to continue with the treatment or not.

8. What is included in the JAMSAI PET CLINIC 's spaying/neutering surgery package?

The package price includes:

  1. Free 1-night pre-surgery hotel stay and an additional night for post-surgery recovery.
  2. Blood tests, medications and medical supplies as prescribed by the clinic.
  3. Fees for the surgeon and nurse.
  4. One dose of flea and tick prevention medication.
  5. An Elizabethan collar and anti-licking shirt (the anti-licking shirt is only for female pets).
  6. Home medications as prescribed by the clinic.
  7. Wound care and suture removal as scheduled.
9. How many days of recovery stay are included in each package with the free recovery stay?

We provide a complimentary 1-night pre-surgery hotel stay and an additional night for post-surgery recovery. Therefore, a 1-day package includes 3 days in total, a 3-day package includes 5 days in total, and a 7-day package includes 9 days in total.

10. If the age of the dog or cat is uncertain because they were just adopted, how can I know if they are between 6 months and 5 years old as required? When can I sterilize them?

If the pet is a young dog or cat, it is recommended to complete their vaccinations before proceeding with the sterilization. If the pet is an adult, vaccinations should be done first, and then a check-up to assess their age can be arranged.

11. Can I use the sterilization surgery package for a mixed-breed dog or cat, particularly if it is a mix of a short-faced breed and a regular breed?

It is possible, but a case-by-case evaluation is needed. You can send clear photos or videos from all angles to the clinic for an assessment.

12. How do I decide how many days of surgery package to choose?

You can thoughtfully select the package based on the unique needs of your pet and the owner's convenience. This example will assist you in selecting the best option:

1-Day Package:

- Perfectly suited for male cats undergoing straightforward, non-invasive surgeries without sutures. If the owner is confidently capable of diligently managing medication and carefully attending to wound care, this option is highly recommended.

7-Day Package:

- Ideal for female cats, as well as female and male dogs, requiring extra attentive care until stitches are expertly removed. This package provides peace of mind for those needing comprehensive support.

- Highly recommended for particularly stubborn male cats that absolutely refuse oral medication and require precise injections. This ensures the clinic can expertly handle their specialized care.

- Perfect for cooperative pets that can easily take medication, but whose owners are incredibly busy, frequently away, or unable to provide the necessary loving attention and care at home.

13. How do I request a price estimate for the cat hotel?

You can provide the number of cats, the number of rooms, the check-in dates, the length of stay and any special requirements for the admin to provide an estimate.

14. Can additional care be provided, like administering subcutaneous fluids or giving medications? How much does it cost?

Yes, this service is available at an additional cost of 50 baht per day. Please refer to the package and promotion details for full pricing information.

15. How is the check-in and check-out for the JAMSAI CAT HOTEL calculated?

The stay is calculated as 1 night per 24 hours from check-in. For example:

If you check in at 10:00 and pick up your cat at 18:00 the following day, it counts as 2 nights.

If you check in at 10:00 and pick up your cat at 10:00 the next day, it counts as 1 night.

16. How many cats can stay in a single room at the JAMSAI CAT HOTEL?

The room dimensions are 100 cm wide, 55 cm deep, and 90 cm high. It includes a hiding box, scratching posts, and climbing structures. The recommended occupancy is 1-2 cats. If you have multiple cats that need separate rooms, we can connect rooms to allow them to move between them. There is an additional fee for an extra cat in the same room. Please refer to the package and promotion details for full pricing information.

17. What is provided for free at the JAMSAI CAT HOTEL and what do I need to bring?

Free items include volcanic ash litter, a litter box, bedding, food and water bowls. However, you must bring your own food, as changing food types can stress cats. You should also bring any personal items your cat likes, such as toys or familiar items, and their vaccination record or health history (if available).

18. How are cats cared for at the JAMSAI CAT HOTEL?

The caregiver feeds and waters the cats 2-times a day, provides playtime, cleans the room and litter box, administers medication, and does wound care if needed. Cats from different households are kept separate to avoid fighting. Daily updates on your cat's condition are provided via the official Line account at 10:00 and 17:30. If supplies like food run low, we will notify you in advance.

19. How are bath and grooming prices determined?

We charge based on the weight of the pet. Dogs are charged based on their coat type (short hair, long hair, special coats) and the services provided, such as a bath only or a full bath and grooming. Free services included are paw, belly and rear shaving.

20. What do terms like "bath," "free paw/abdomen/rear shaving," and "full grooming" mean?

"Bath" includes ozone bath, shampoo, conditioner, nail trimming, ear cleaning, teeth brushing and anal gland expression.

"Free paw/abdomen/rear shaving" means we offer free trimming of fur under the paws, belly and around the rear.

"Full grooming" refers to trimming fur under the paws, belly and around the rear, as well as grooming the rest of the body using clippers and scissors.

21. Does trimming nails come with an additional charge?

Nail trimming is included in our grooming service, which is a full grooming course. There is no additional charge for any service, whether it’s nail trimming, paw, belly, or bottom trimming—no extra fees are added.

22. What does it mean that JAMSAI PET CLINIC reserves the right and does not take responsibility for injuries or illness that existed prior to service?

If a dog or cat has pre-existing health issues such as wounds, skin diseases, or ear mites before receiving service, we will first inform the owner about the pet’s condition, including symptoms, with photos sent to the owner. We will ask if the owner wants treatment along with grooming or if they wish to decline. The owner can choose whether to proceed with treatment or not. After this, the grooming service will continue.

23. What illnesses or conditions prevent a pet from receiving grooming services?

Cases of death following grooming are often caused by factors such as unsuitable waiting areas, hot and stuffy conditions, or heart disease in cats that goes unnoticed, which can cause stress and lead to heart failure during grooming. Therefore, pets with any abnormal health conditions should not be rushed into grooming. It is best to wait until they are fully healthy. Even cats that appear healthy but are easily stressed or fearful should be watched carefully, as they may have undiagnosed heart issues. If the groomer advises against grooming, you should follow and observe your pet’s condition more carefully.

24. What types of dogs and cats cannot receive grooming services?

Dogs and cats that cannot receive grooming services include:

  1. Pets with aggressive behavior that harm the groomer, such as biting, scratching, or attacking.
  2. Pets that are excessively fearful, such as those afraid of the hairdryer or water.
25. What is the waiting area like, and are dogs and cats separated?

The waiting area is located outside the grooming room in a cool, air-conditioned space with no direct sunlight, and soothing music is played. Pets are placed in cages with proper ventilation, comfortable bedding, and water bowls. Dogs and cats are kept separate to reduce stress. If only one pet type is waiting, they will wait in front of the grooming room. If both a dog and cat are using the service, the cat will wait on the second floor in the cat hotel, while the dog will wait outside the grooming room.

26. How long does the grooming process take?

The grooming time depends on the type of service, the difficulty of the task and the cooperation of the pet. Generally, a bath takes about 1 hour, while a bath and grooming session takes about 2 hours.

27. What are the operating hours for JAMSAI PET CLINIC and JAMSAI CAT HOTEL?

JAMSAI PET CLINIC and JAMSAI CAT HOTEL are open everyday, except Thursdays, from 09:00 to 19:00. The grooming service is available from 09:00 to 18:00, except Thursday.
